Was Short Order Cook For Several Clifton Forge Area Restaurants

Edna May Broughman Poole, age 71, of The Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia, and formerly of 104 Clover Lane, Selma, VA died Friday, June 11, 2010 at the nursing home.

She was born October 25, 1938 in Selma, Virginia to the late Ollie Alexander and Lottie Mary Thompson Broughman.

She was a short-order cook for several restaurants in the Clifton Forge area and was of the Methodist faith.

She was a member of the Clifton Forge Women of the Moose Chapter # 22. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Cecil Broughman, Rinard Broughman, Lawrence Broughman, Robert Broughman, Walter Broughman, and John Broughman; and two sisters, Midge Guest and Josephine Paitsel.

She is survived by three daughters: Debbie Pelkey and husband, Barry, of Centreville, VA, Jenny Hammond and husband, Scott of Selma and Sherry Stoner of Bunker Hill, WVA; three sons: Clay Harrison and wife, Mary of Winchester, David Harrison of Winchester and Billy Poole of Harrisonburg; three brothers, Glenn Broughman of Richmond, Pete Broughman of Hopewell and Eugene Broughman and wife, Thelma of Lexington; sixteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service was conducted by the Clifton Forge Women of the Moose Chapter #22 on Monday at 11:00 AM in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Interment followed. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers P.O. Box 637 Clifton forge, VA 24422. There was reception for the family and friends immediately following the service at the Clifton Forge Moose Lodge 2815 Douthat Road Clifton Forge, VA.
