Cynthia Rae LaRue went to be with our Lord Saturday, June 19, 2010.

She was born in Silver Springs, Maryland, on March 2, 1941 to the late Randolph F. (Sam) LaRue Jr. and Mildred Carr LaRue, but grew up in Rockbridge County, VA in the area known as Riverside.

She married and lived in Lexington, VA, where she worked as a paralegal secretary and raised four children.

In 1985, she moved to Alleghany County, but during the last two years she resided at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Fincastle, VA.

She is survived by her four children: daughter, Dawn Rene' Cochran and husband, Wayne; son, Patchin Hartless; daughter, Dana Hartless; daughter, Heather McClung and husband, Patrick; a brother, Randolph F. (Randy) LaRue III; and a sister, Linda Meyer; four grandchildren also survive her: Trevor Mitchell, Jessie Hartless, Kalee McClung, and Caleb McClung.

She was a devoted and loving mom, granny and friend. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Rollins officiating.
