Obituary for William Louis Caldwell William Louis Caldwell
Sweet Chalyebeate Resident Loved Flying

William Louis Caldwell, 76, of 300 Kanawha Trail at Sweet Chalybeate, died, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his residence.

He was born April 25, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Walter P. and Ruby Martin Caldwell.

Bill had a love of flying and airplanes for all of his life. He was a pilot and mechanic for Tates's Greenbrier Airline in White Sulphur Springs, WV and Greenbrier Valley Aviation in Lewisburg, WV, for a number of years.

He was qualified as an inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration.

He retired in 1985 from First Property Management Company as a Maintenance Supervisor in Columbus, Ohio.

He was a member of the Tucson Lodge #4 AF & AM and the Tucson Sabbar Shrine Club in Tucson, Arizona.

Surviving are his wife, Cora Hardesty "Butch" Caldwell of Sweet Chalybeate; one son, Kenneth "K.C." Caldwell and his wife, Christina of Sweet Chalybeate; three daughters, Darlene Holben of Akron, OH; Terry Swanger of Columbus, OH, and Laura Bell and her husband, Chris of St. Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

In keeping with Mr. Caldwell's wishes, his body has been cremated.

A funeral service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial donations in Mr. Caldwell's name may be made to: Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

The Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia, will be handling the arrangements.
