Obituary for Barbara Jean Twigg Gandia Barbara Jean Twigg Gandia
Indiana Native Was Former Celotex Employee

Barbara Jean Twigg Gandia, 74, of 216 North Smith Bridge Road, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her residence.

She was born July 8, 1936 in Marion, Indiana, a daughter of the late Leo Sylvester Twigg and Irene Bernice Oliver.

Barbara graduated in 1954 from Marion High Scholl in Marion, Indiana . She loved her first car, a 1953 Ford, and was even known to race her father's cars at a local race track.

Mrs. Gandia was a former employee of the Celotex Corporation as an accountant until it was purchased by International Paper. She retired as an accountant for International Parer in Dillon, SC.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She enjoyed her retirement, spending time with her family, and going to the beach, which she loved.

Barbara enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and taking care of her goldfish, but she always felt her greatest accomplishment was becoming a parent.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Jean Wehrly and a granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Wehrly.

Surviving are three sons, Frank E. Wehrly III and his wife, Debbie of San Antonio, TX; Eric M. Wehrly and his wife, Jennie of Sanford, NC and Aaron M. Gandia and his wife, Dagnee of Rock Hill, SC; one daughter, Theresa E. Byer and her husband, David of Falling Spring; five grandchildren: Tiffany Wehrly, Franklin Wehrly, Erica Wehrly, Matthew Wehrly, and Parker Wehrly; one sister, Dixie Sims of Marion, IN; one brother, Lloyd E. Twigg of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

The interment will made at a later date in the Greenlawn Perpetual Cemetery in Dillon, SC, next to her daughter, Vicky Jean Wehrly.

The Arritt Funeral home is handling the arrangements.
