Jessica was a member of Community Advent Christian Church in Roanoke. She was a 2008 Graduate of Staunton River High School. She was an E.M.T. and an active member of Chamblissburg Rescue Squad. She attended Central Virginia Community College.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Ryan; a beloved sister, Lindsay Caldwell and soon to be brother-in-law, Tracy Maxfield; her grandparents, Lee Roy and Barbara Vess and Bill and Betty Graybill; two special uncles and a special aunt, Bradlee Vess, and Dave and Sharon Franklin; four cousins, Eric and Jacob Vess, and Andrew and Emily Franklin; a very special greataunt, Doris McPeak; two adopted grandmas, Betty Bowles and Betty Klutz; an adopted "Little Sis my Aimee" Aimee Bowles; her three puppies, Squirt, Clancy and even puddles; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and all of the Chamblissburg Rescue Squad family.

"I am now with my Jesus as of July 23, 2010.

"I have enjoyed my time here with my family, Bill and Vikki Graybell (parents), Lindsay Caldwell (beloved sister), Ryan Evan (son), and my puppies Clancey, Squirt, and even Puddles.

"I am soon to have a new brother-in-law, Tracy Maxfield.

"I have wonderful loving grandparents, Lee Roy and Barbara Vess and Bill and Betty Graybill.

"I have been surrounded by uncle Brad Vess, uncle David Franklin and aunt Sharon Franklin. I have four cousins, Eric and Jacob Vess and Andrew and Emily Franklin. I also had two adopted grandmas, Betty Bowles and Betty Klutz, who brought joy to my family and me.

"My family and I were over blessed with people who became family through love and friendship. God gave me "Little Sis my Aimee" Aimee Bowles. He added to this list Brenda and Cheryl Bogle, Hank and Shirley Burgess, Dawn Spradlin, Alysa Spradlin, Rita Hall, Ben Parts, Mike Sutliffe, Meghan Baker, Sharon Baker, Gary Sutliffe, and all of my Chamblissburg Rescue Squad Family. Squad 4 responds!! Love you guys.

"He made my list too numerous to mention everyone, but even if you're not in the paper, you are in my heart and I love you still, and I am grateful for each of you. You have all surrounded me in good times and bad. Our family had been blessed by T. G. Ayers as a friend, guide, and pastor with a great gift and heart. God blessed me with dedicated, skilled doctors who allowed me not to lose my battle with cancer. Cancer did not win, I did not lose that battle, I merely finished my work, accomplished my goals as God seen fit, and achieved my reward, knowing things end as God's perfect will, and how they are supposed to. God brought into my life an aunt, Doris McPeak. She has been a steady voice of love, reason, strength, and perspective through everything. Thanks, uncle Larry and Aunt Doris. Thanks Uncle Winston for the special handcrafted home for my ashes. I have been so loved and so blessed by the people in my life. Thank you Guy Michael Pullen for my last request and being there always. Don't be sad for me. I got to go to heaven. It has been my pleasure and joy here, so remember me for my skills, running calls, smiling, my love for family, my respect, joy, my loyalty, but do not remember me for sadness, cancer, or anything that is not blessed and happy. I will see you all again, and until then, you are all in my heart here in heaven. I love you, Lindsay. Be strong and stay that way untill I see you again." JESSICA In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening July 29, 2010, at the Central Advent Christian Church 3515 Longdale Furnace Road Clifton Forge, Virginia, and from 1:30 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the Community Advent Christian Church. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Community Advent Christian Church, 4512 Old Mountain Road NE, Roanoke, Virginia, with the Pastor T.G. Ayers, Pastor John Hodgen, Ric Fucearelli, and Gary Sutliffe officiating.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.
