Carolyn Lorane Ratcliff Maye, 56, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Sunday, August 8, 2010.

Born April 10, 1954 in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James Hampton Ratcliff and Hazel McMahan Ratcliff.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Ratcliff.

Surviving are her son, Shawn L. Ratcliffe and wife, Ada Lee (Addie) of Buena Vista; four grandchildren, Sharee Lenae Ratcliffe, Shawn Lorenzo Ratcliffe, Jr., Shaina Loriann Ratcliffe, Shaidan Luther-Brock Ratcliffe; two brothers, James L. Ratcliff of Salem and Ricky L. Ratcliff of Blacksburg; three sisters, Darlene R. Johnson of Blacksburg, Sharon R. Brick of Chester, Patricia L. Ratcliff of Blacksburg; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend, Larry Campbell. Services will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
