William Madison Hall, 81, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Friday, August 20, 2010.

Born October 30, 1928 in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late William Madison Hall and Emma Ruth Camper Hall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary H. Greene and Opal H. Davis; two brothers, Olen (Bill) Hall and Marshall Hall.

Mr. Hall was retired from Hermetite and was a member and past deacon of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 Ð 1955, and served on the Draft Board for a number of years.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Betty Hall; children, Billie Jean Hall of Kents Store, VA, and J. David Hall of Buena Vista; three grandchildren, Robert Harrison Hall, Robin Rae Hall Morris and husband, Brian H., all of Buena Vista, and Joshua David Hall of Glasgow; beloved great grandchildren, Rachel Rae Blankenship, namesake, William Luke Morris, and Ryan Patrick Morris; sisters, Patsy Hamilton of Buena Vista, Hilda Lawyer of Martinsville, and Emma Jean Falls and husband, Hunter, of Arrington, VA.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Buena Vista Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Chapman, III and Rev. Barton Helmuth officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, 303 E. 24th St., Buena Vista, VA 24416, Rockbridge Area Hospice, P O Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450 or a charity of your choice.
