Life Long Farmer Was Pepsi Cola Bottling Company Employee

Winfred Boyd Kirby, 74, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Heritage Hall.

Born June 29, 1936, the son of the late Ernest M. Kirby and Estelle Frances McCullough Kirby.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Kirby, a brother, Phillip C. Kirby and a brother-in-law, Louis Patterson.

Winfred attended Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, was a life long farmer, and was employed by Pepsi Cola Bottling Company.

Surviving are his son, Rickey B. Kirby of Augusta, GA; step son, Carl Fontaine of Roanoke; step daughter, Jean Fontaine of Sparta, NJ; two sisters, Martha K. Patterson of Goshen; Linda K. Nicely of Buena Vista; devoted companion, Sara Bennett; six grandchildren, Scott Kalman, Robbie Fontaine, Rachel Kirby Acosta, Rebecca Kirby, David Kirby, and Emily Kirby; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Mt. Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Sebby Volpe officiating. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.

Arrangements are being handled by the Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
