Eva Wilhelm Painter, 82, of Buena Vista, Va., died, Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at her home.

Born December 20, 1927, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late Jim Wilhelm and Mabel Mason Wilhelm.

In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Painter; two sons, John Henry Painter and Dennis M. Painter; one daughter, Cindy Painter; one brother; and one sister.

Surviving are her two sons, Kenneth Elwood Painter and wife, Joyce, of Glasgow, James Rader Painter and wife, Shirley, of Buena Vista; one sister, Myrtle Coleman, of Buena Vista; one brother, Leon Wilhelm, of Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2010, at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Va.
