Obituary for David Charles Hyler David Charles Hyler
Marine Sergeant Was DC Investigations Owner

David Charles Hyler, age 55, of Scott Hill Apartments, Clifton Forge, Virginia, and formerly of Laurinburg, North Carolina died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville.

He was born October 14, 1955 in Clifton Forge to the late Charles and Thelma Nicely Hyler.

He served in the United States Marine Corps as Sergeant and as a guided missile tech for eight years.

He was a member of Laurinburg Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of University of Virginia College of Criminal Justice and was the owner of DC Investigations.

He is survived by a son, Andrew of Roanoke; a daughter, Isabella of Roanoke; a sister, Brenda Lindsay and husband, Wayne of Iron Gate; a brother, Timothy Steven Hyler and wife, Jane of Moneta; a grandson, Garon Hyler; and a niece and two nephews, Melinda Lindsay, Josh Lindsay, and T. J. Hyler.

A private, graveside service will be conducted at a later date. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P. O. 419, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

Arrangements are being handled by the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Va., 540-862-4157.
