Nathan Page (Pete) Menefee, 67, of 1534 S. Greenlawn Avenue, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his residence.

He was born April 19, 1943 in Maryland, a son of the late Nathan P. and Easter B. Menefee, Sr.

Pete retired after 44 years as a machine operator in 2008 from AET, Inc. and was formerly employed by Hercules.

He was a member of the New Life Church of God.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Barbara Fountain Menefee of Covington; two sons, Ray Menefee and his wife, Crystal of Eagle Rock; Nathan L. Menefee and his wife, Sue of Covington; one daughter, Fran Arrington and her husband, Sam of Covington; three grandchildren, Nate Menefee; Justin Menefee and Sara Arrington; two sister, Jennie Smith and her husband, Curtis of Covington; Kitty Neal and her husband, George of Murfreesboro, TN; one brother, Bobby Menefee and his wife, Debbie of Smyma, TN ; three brothers in law, Frank Proffitt and Carson and Vickie Profitt, all of Covington; and David Fountain of Greensville, TN; an aunt, Betty and Hugh Rowlett of Kingsport, TN; a cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Coiner of Greensboro , NC; and faithful friends, Randy Unroe of Iron Gate; Gary and Sylvia Fridley of Crows and Patty Warden of Eagle Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Mr. Menefee's wishes, his body has been cremated.
