Obituary for Margaret Hall Simmons Margaret Hall Simmons
Homemaker Was Former Eagle Rock Resident

Margaret Hall Simmons, age 87, of The Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs, VA, and formerly of Eagle Rock, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at The Springs.

She was born February 22, 1923 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to the late Cornalius and Myrtle S. Hall.

She was a homemaker throughout her life and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Aubrey Simmons in 1990; a sister, Louise Edwards; a brother, Robert Hall; and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Simmons.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Perkins and husband, Charles Perkins, Jr. of St. Cloud, FL; two sons, Dennis Simmons and wife, Sherry of Covington, and Mike Simmons of Covington; two grandchildren, Marie Woods and husband, John, and Stuart Simmons; as well as a number of great grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Jessie Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Botetourt County. Pallbearers will be Raymond "Doc" Thompson, Johnny Kern, Clavin Edwards, Norman Edwards, David Hall and Grant Hall. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The Activities Fund of The Springs Nursing Center, 167 Springs Street, Hot Springs, VA 24445.
