Evelyn Ridge Coffey, 86, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Benjamin Borden Health Center.

Born July 23, 1924 in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John William Ridge and Elsie Bogle Ridge.

Evelyn was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she retired as its secretary and historian. She was very active in church and civic organizations.

Surviving are her husband, Ray Stratton Coffey; two sons, Ray Stratton Coffey, Jr. and William Webster Coffey; one daughter, Janice C. Bowen; six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Tippens officiating. A private burial to take place in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Trinity United Methodist Church.
