Low Moor Resident Dies At Age 56

Robert Edward (Bob) Bolden, age 56, of 2706 Vassar Street, Low Moor, Virginia, passed away peacefully Friday, January 28, 2011 at University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

He was born July 24, 1954 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Saint Matthew and Lilly Evelyn Hancock Bolden of Low Moor.

Robert served his country in the United States Army and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Helen Jones of Philadelphia, PA.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Tasha Renele Bolden of Clifton Forge; two grandchildren, Tatiana Renele Bolden and Zamir Kiheem Bolden; a fiance, Dorethea Johnson of Covington, and her children, Sophia Marshall of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jerome Johnson Jr. of Covington; a devoted friend, Cynthia M. Carter of Clifton Forge, and her children, Reginald E. Carter Jr. of Vero Beach Florida, Trina Edwards of Clifton Forge, and Tanya Walker and husband, Beverly Lawrence Walker of Troy; one brother, James Matthew Bolden and wife, Evelyn Bolden of Clifton Forge; one sister, Betty Saunders and husband, Willie Saunders of Newark, DE; a sister-in-law, Twyla Bolden of Clifton Forge; one aunt, Myrtle Phanelson of Roanoke; his extended family, Mrs. Ethel Washington, Laverne and Herman Taylor, Deborah Gomes, Towanna Washington, Kendra and Donald Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, 405 Alleghany Street, Clifton Forge with Reverend Matthew T. Barnette, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Nicely Funeral Home. A repast will be held at Main Street Baptist Church in Clifton Forge. The family also welcomes friends other times at either the residence of Tasha Bolden, 651 Verge Street, Clifton Forge or the residence of Dorothea Johnson, 306 Dairy Street, Covington, VA. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, ATTN: Joy Weeks Memorial Chairman, 2212 Dressler Drive, Covington, VA 24426.
