Cecil (Billy) Wayne Gibson, 57, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 in the University of Virginia Hospital.

He was born April 9, 1953 in Rockbridge County, the son of Mrs. Mary Berry of Buena Vista and the late James Edward Gibson of Natural Bridge.

He was preceded in death by stepfather, James David Austin, and sister, Wanda Hartless.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mary and Eddie Berry of Buena Vista; his daughter, Wendi and Tony Rice of Buena Vista; two grandsons and a nephew of Buena Vista; five sisters, Christine Betty Latimer and Richard Latimer of Temple Hill, MD; Sandra and Donald Clark of Buena Vista, Marie Austin of Hiddenite, NC, Mitzi and Travis Waters of Buena Vista, and Donna Austin of Buena Vista; three brothers, David and Ellen Austin of Buena Vista, Jay and Kim Austin of Buena Vista, Jamie and Chasity Austin of Buena Vista; a stepbrother, Timmy and Patty Berry of Troy, VA; two stepsisters, Roxie Sorrells of Buena Vista, Dawn Clark of Lexington; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 with the Pastor Bill Crawford officiating at Bolling, Grose, and Lotts Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
