Robert Paul Barry, Sr., 78, of Lexington, Virginia, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Salem Health and Rehab in Salem, VA.

Born April 27, 1932 in Washington, DC, a son of the late Daniel J. Barry and Louise Anna Moore Barry.

Mr. Barry was a member of Kerrs Creek Christian Advent Church, and was an electrician at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Surviving are his wife, Hassie Martin Barry of Lexington; children, Virginia Clark Barry of Edgewater, MD Robin Elderbrock of Virginia Beach, VA; Karen Birch of Buena Vista; Robert Barry, Jr. of Lexington; step-children, Carl Montgomery and Earl Montgomery, both of Lexington; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.

Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
