Obituary for Lura Harvey McNulty Lura Harvey McNulty

Former Industrial Rayon And CHS Cafeteria Employee

Lura Harvey McNulty, 97, of 406 S. Lexington Avenue, Covington, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Kings Daughter Community Health and Rehab, Staunton, VA.

She was the wife of the late James Henry "Russell" McNulty who preceded her in death in 1988.

She was born April 26, 1913 in Montebella, VA, the daughter of the late James Edward Harvey and Nellie Bradley Harvey.

She was employed by the former Industrial Rayon and later worked in the cafeteria of Covington High School.

Mrs. McNulty was a member of Covington Baptist Church.

The last surviving member of her family, she loved to cook and enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris M. Hayes and husband, Bill, of Staunton; two grandchildren, Timothy Hayes and wife, Ann and Shelley Hayes; one great grandson, Bradley Hayes; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, James Edward Harvey and Nellie Bradley Harvey, and her husband, James Henry McNulty, Mrs. McNulty was preceded in death by one daughter, Rita Jean McNulty Lilly in 1961; two brothers, James Harvey and William Harvey; and two sisters, Cecil Sigmond and Elta Mathaney.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2011, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Poluikis officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Covington Baptist Church following the service.
