Ernie Dean Peer, Sr., age 75, of 1213 Jefferson Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, in Low Moor.

He was born November 9, 1935 in Zepp, Virginia to the late Early Dorman Peer and Alma L. Bauserman Peer.

He relocated to Clifton Forge to begin working at the former Jane Colby Plant in Cliftondale Park and retired from the apparel industry after forty-five years.

He was currently employed by Kroger of Clifton Forge.

He was a member of the Sugar Hill Hunt Club in Zepp, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Sutler Peer of Clifton Forge; a son, Ernie Dean Peer, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Roanoke; a grandson, Sean Bethel and wife ,Angie of Salem; an aunt, Emmalee Bauserman of Zepp; and three great grandchildren.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. There will be no services at this time.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, handled the arrangements.
