Navy Veteran Was Calvary Brethren Church Member

Fred Elwood (Boo) Pryor, 86, of Amherst, Virginia, formerly of Buena Vista, died Monday, May 9, 2011 at his home.

Born April 24, 1925 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Walker Pryor and Nellie Crabill Pryor.

Mr. Pryor was a member of the Calvary Brethren Church, served in the Navy during World War II, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Lillian Pryor and Ruby Stinnett, both of Buena Vista, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Calvary Brethren Church with the Rev. Rick Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Calvary Brethren Church.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
