Obituary for June Dressler Andrews June Dressler Andrews
Retired Educator Worked With Covington School System

Mrs. June Dressler Andrews, age 75, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Augusta Medical Center, Fishersville, VA.

She was the wife of R. Dean Andrews.

Mrs. Andrews was born July 24, 1935 in Covington, the daughter of the late Earl R. Dressler and Effie Frazier Dressler.

She was a 1952 graduate of Covington High School and graduated from Longwood College.

Mrs. Andrews was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a former organist and member of the choir.

Mrs. Andrews retired in 1997 after working for 40 years as an educator in the Covington School System at Edgemont Elementary School. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

In addition to her husband, R. Dean Andrews, Mrs. Andrews is survived by one daughter, Junessa Andrews DeBiasi of Stuarts Draft; one grandson, Andrew Walker DeBiasi and Andrew's father Chris DeBiasi; a longtime special friend, Carole McGregor; and also surviving are a number of cousins and special caregivers, Teresa Jones, Denise Garber and Rita Sprouse.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Michael C. Fleenor officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Burton Parker, Burdette Rupert, Joseph A. Wimer, Eddie O'Rourke, Jeri O'Rourke, Larry "Chiefie" O'Rourke, Gavin Dressler and Chris DeBiasi.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests donations take the form of contributions to Blue Ridge M. S. Society, One Morton Drive, Suite 106, Charlottesville VA 22903.
