Obituary for James Clyde Johnson James Clyde Johnson
West Virginia Native Was Self-Employed Welder

James Clyde Johnson, 82, of Raphine, died Friday, May 20, 2011 at his home.

Born February 9, 1929 in West Virginia, he was a son of William Dewey Johnson and Martha Taylor Johnson.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

Mr. Johnson was a self-employed welder for over 20 years, and previous employments include Nello L. Teer Construction, Adams Construction, White's Truck Stop, Barger & Sons, and Stumps Scrap Yard.

Clyde served his country in the U.S. Army from 1947 Ð 1950.

He was a charter member and a past governor of the Blue Ridge Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Janell Johnson of Raphine, VA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Floyd Hunt of Williamsburg, VA and Brenda and Dennis Pavlick of Fairfield, VA; two grandsons, Scott and Marsha Wade of Onancock, VA; Travis and Sadie Hunt of Williamsburg, VA; one granddaughter, Christy and Steve Sorrells of Greenville, VA; three great grandsons; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Mary Ellen Greer of Staunton, VA.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luther Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The fFamily will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
