Obituary for Delores Scott Harris Delores Scott Harris
Randolph St. United Methodist Church Member Was Active In Her Community

Delores Scott Harris, 80, of Lexington, Virginia, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Benjamin Borden Healthcare Center.

Born August 13, 1930 in Lexington, VA, she was the daughter of the late John Hill Scott and Laura Meyers Scott.

Mrs. Harris was a member of the Randolph Street United Methodist Church, and also the United Methodist Women's Club, member of the Hearts Club, and the P.A.N.G. Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Harris.

Surviving are two daughters, Marsha Harris Stores of Lexington; Toni Elizabeth Carberry and husband, Lawrence of Wake Forest, NC; special nieces, Deborah Smith Caesar and friend, Willie Ricks of Sterling, VA; Winnie Davis and husband Elven Davis of East St. Louis, IL; three grandchildren, Trevor L. Stores of Lexington; Lauren D. Luckey and husband, Sam of Clinton, MD; Scott M. Caesar of Arlington, VA; one great granddaughter, Laila S. Luckey of Clinton, MD; very special cousin, Margo Kyle; very special friend Ruth Stewart, both of Lexington; a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Randolph Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. William K. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The body of Mrs. Harris may be viewed at the funeral home from 9 - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, and the family welcomes visitors at the home at any time.
