Obituary for Clyde Eugene Rose, Sr. Clyde Eugene Rose, Sr.
Retired Electrician Was Immanuel Baptist Church Member

Clyde Eugene Rose, Sr., age 74, of 802 Concord Street, Selma, Virginia, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his residence.

He was born February 2, 1937 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late Clarence William and Ollie Aaron Forren Rose.

He was a retired electrician for Acadia Polymers of Iron Gate and attended Immanuel Baptist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking, but especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Clarence Rose in 1962, and a brother, Billy Lee Rose, Sr. in 1992.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Sandra Jean Quick Rose of Selma; three sons, Clyde Eugene Rose, Jr. of Roanoke, John Rose of Bristol, and James Rose of Rural Retreat; twelve grandchildren, Clyde Eugene Rose III of Roanoke, Matthew Allen Rose of Salem, Stephen Michael Elliott of Blacksburg, Alisha Nichole Elliott of Blacksburg, Sandra Diane Elliott of Blacksburg, Kennedy Elisabeth Rose of Marion, Ashton Tyler Rose of Rural Retreat, Dalton Ashby Rose of Rural Retreat, Payton James Rose of Rural Retreat, Grace Anne Rose of Bristol, Addison Denise Rose of Bristol, and Tyler Gavin Rose of Bristol; three great grandchildren, Hannah Julia Rose, Leigh Ann Rose, and Coy Rose, all of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Virginia Looney of Covington; two nieces, Mary Ellen Cash and Brandy McCarroll, both of Norton; one nephew, Billy Lee Rose of Covington; and two special aunts, Thelma Epperly of Troutville and Darlene Graham of Salem.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Dennis Nicely officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, one hour prior to the service, at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the residence. Following the service, his body will be cremated.
