Dorothy McCormick Sorrells, 89, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Monday, July 11, 2011 in Golden Living Center.

Born September 15, 1921 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Lee and Annie Vie McCormick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Lee Painter and a stepson, Earl "Buck" Sorrells, Jr.

Surviving are her husband, Earl Sorrells; a step daughter, Peggy Watkins; one granddaughter; a sister, Louis Henkel; two grandchildren, Roy and Jennifer Sorrells; three great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Clark and Rev. Sheldon Sorrels officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
