Georgia Native Dies At Age 87

Mollie Christine Taylor, 87, of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at her home.

Born April 3, 1924 in Screven County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Leo Anderson and Mollie Sowell Anderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Taylor, and a son, Robert E. Taylor, Jr.

Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Arnolds Valley Southern Baptist Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Donna A. Simpson of Glasgow; five grandchildren: Yvonne Jarvis, Susan Miller, Robert L. Taylor, Christi Coleman, and Emily Jenkins; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Jason Powell officiating. Burial will be private at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450.

Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
