Obituary for Ruby Fitzgerald Whitten Ruby Fitzgerald Whitten
Fairfield United Methodist Church Member Dies At Age 74

Ruby Fitzgerald Whitten, 74, of Fairfield, Virginia, passed away, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Lynchburg at the home of her daughter.

She was born May 10, 1937 in Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Massie Fitzgerald and Sarah Wheeler Fitzgerald.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Whitten; one sister, Barbara F. Drumwright, and two brothers, Wallace and Ronald Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Whitten was a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Tommy Whitten and wife, Sandy, and Timmy Whitten, all of Fairfield; one daughter, Trudy Whitten Cash and husband, Stanley of Lynchburg; one brother, Phillip Fitzgerald; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery and then a meal will be served at Fairfield United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Buena Vista, VA.
