Robert Bernard Wagner, Jr., of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born May 10, 1934 in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late Robert Bernard Wagner, Sr. and Virginia Chaplin Wagner.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte W. Schreiber.

Bob was a member of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder.

He was an avid baseball player and golfer throughout his life.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Patterson Wagner of Buena Vista; two daughters, Edith Wagner Humphries and husband, Ronnie of Buena Vista, and Carol Wagner Fauber and husband, Danny of Chester; one brother, James E. Wagner; four grandchildren and many other special friends and family members.

A memorial service will be conducted 11a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at Buena Vista Presbyterian Church with the Rev. George W. Chapman, III and the Rev. Bart Hellmuth officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 406, Buena Vista, VA or to the Buena Vista Rescue Squad, 2039 Sycamore Avenue, Buena Vista, VA.
