Obituary for Mila Louise Carter Kelley Mila Louise Carter Kelley
Bath County Native Was Eagle Rock Resident

Mila Louise Carter Kelley of Eagle Rock, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Lewis Gale Hospital at Alleghany.

She was born in Bath County to the late Joseph Edward Carter and Mae Romelia Swearengin Carter.

Mila loved playing the guitar and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Leo Grey Carter, Darrell Wayne Carter, Roger Dale Carter, and Joe Lee Carter, as well as a sister Carolyn Sams.

She is survived by her loyal husband of 39 years, Homer Kelley of Eagle Rock; two daughters: Donna Talbert and fiance Eddie of Eagle Rock, Laura Laudermilk and husband, Brett of Clifton Forge; one son, Jeff Wiseman of Raphine, VA; three grandchildren: Benny Edward Talbert, Deana Bray Collins and Crystal Laudermilk; four great grandchildren: Joseph, Cody, Dalyn and Kila; four stepchildren, seven step grandchildren in Georgia. She is also survived by three sisters: Maxine Roberts, Darlene Woddell and husband, Toby, and Hilda Brinkley and husband, Marvin; two brothers: Ray Carter and wife, Goldie, Don Carter and Betty; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She had a special love for her two pets Jake the bird and Peppi her dog.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Reverend Rob Haskins and Reverend Jessie Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brett Laudermilk, Cody Bray, Donald Conner, Joseph Bray, Michael Carter and Mike Carter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Laura and Brett Laudermilk at 1117 Jefferson Ave. in Clifton Forge. The family suggest that memorial tributes be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, Eagle Rock.
