Alleghany County Native Was Former Bacova Guild Employee

Miss Sadie Marie Landis, age 62, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Bath County Community Hospital, Hot Springs.

Miss Landis was born May 14, 1949 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Emmett Hanley Landis and Beulah Byer Landis.

She was employed as a production worker by the Bacova Guild before her retirement.

She was of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed crocheting.

Miss Landis is survived by one daughter, Loretta Robinson and husband, Richard of Covington; one grandson, Cameron Robinson; one brother, Marvin Wayne Landis and wife, Linda; two sisters, Lula Faye Landis Rice and husband, Joe of Sam Black Church, WV and Mary Elizabeth Landis Davis and husband, Vernon of Annapolis, MD; one sister-in-law, Judy Landis of Covington; a number of nieces and nephews including one special niece, Cindy Rice of Salem.

Miss Landis was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Byong Ahn officiating.
