Edward Reed Rose, Jr., 54, of 1310 Cherokee Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Friday night, December 16, 2011 in Roanoke.

Mr. Rose was born July 15, 1956, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Edward Rose, Sr. and Geraldine Andrews Rose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Harold.

He was currently the Head Clerk at the Hollins Kroger Store, after serving with the company for 38 years.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Robbin Stinnett Rose of Covington; his son, Joshua A. Rose of Covington; his daughter, Rachel Tucker of Covington; two grandchildren, Zachary Tucker and Kameron Tucker, both of Covington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Susan Harold of Wilson, NC and Billy and Pat Harold of Stuarts Draft; one sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Preston Warlitner of Greensboro, NC, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Tremblay officiating. In accordance with his wishes, his body will be cremated following the service.

The family will receive friends following the service at Arritt Funeral Home, Covington, Virginia.
