Lundy J. (Buck) Farley, 88, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011.

He was the son of the late Lundy C. Farley and Amy Miller Farley and was born on July 6, 1923 in Covington.

Mr. Farley was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Buena Vista, where he was also the Sunday School Superintendent for 28 years.

He worked at the Bernson Silk Mill for 26 years, then retired from Days Inn after 15 years of service.

He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, also preceding him in death is a son-in-law, James Wright; four sisters; and a brother.

Surviving him are his wife, Lucille Terry Farley; two daughters, Saundra Wright, of Madison Heights and Pamela Moore and husband, Roger, of Buena Vista; two sons, Lundy Dwight Farley and wife, Brenda, of Goldsboro, N.C. and Kenny D. Farley and wife, Wanda, of Buena Vista; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Bolling Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Vernon, the Rev. Greg Martin, and the Rev Rudy Hilderbrand officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Centra Hospice, 2097 Langhorne Road, Lynchburg, VA. 24501.
