Evelyn M. Ford Miller, age 85, of St. Clair, Michigan, died Friday, December 23, 2011.

Evelyn was born December 30, 1925 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late Burgess and Gladys Ford.

She married Alfred C. Miller on April 23, 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2011.

Evelyn was an active member at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Detroit for over 30 years and most recently attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church, P.H.

She devoted many years to raising their three children and later worked as office manager for Dr. Marriott, DDS for over 20 years.

She loved the Lord, her family, quilting, shopping, bird watching, traveling, and spending time with her friends. She loved to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and invested largely in relationships.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Robert G. Miller; her daughter, Joan M. Watt and husband, David; 8 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas A. Miller in 2001.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Clifford Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Memorials may be made to Colonial Woods Missionary or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
