Former Cliftondale Country Club Pro Shop Manager Dies

Robin Gunter Craft Simpson, age 55, of 2712 Clinton Street, Low Moor, Virginia, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at her residence.

She was born August 17, 1956 in Summers County, West Virginia, to the late Homer and Cleo Wickline Gunter.

She was a former Pro Shop manager for the Cliftondale Country Club and was of the Christian Faith.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and "MawMaw".

She enjoyed golf, cooking, and camping.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Tabor.

She is survived by her husband, George Clayton Simpson of Low Moor; a son, Matt Craft of Covington; a grandson, Drew Craft; two sisters, Ann Potter and special friend, Clay Neff of Low Moor and Veneta Gaye Dingus and husband, Kester of Covington; four brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Patty Gunter of Clarksville, TN, Billy and Lisa Gunter of Elliston, Lee and Connie Gunter of Covington, and Jeff and Carrie Gunter of Low Moor; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Pastor Bill Gilliland officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Chris Gunter, Dusty Potter, Zack Gunter, Dalton Nicely, Ron Bennett, Dakota Scott, Brandon Gunter, and Corey Gunter.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
