Lytle Wilmer Higgins, 82, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his home.

Born October 25, 1929 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Tanzie Higgins and Louise Smith Higgins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Odell Higgins, and a brother, Marshall Higgins.

Mr. Higgins was a member of the Ebenezer ARP Church.

Surviving are his children, Wilmer Higgins of Glasgow; Freddie Higgins; Joyce Buck both of Reidsville, NC; Hazel Roberts; Darlene Higgins; Jeffrey Higgins all of Fairfield; Thomas Higgins of Staunton; Larry Higgins of Madison, NC; Lynn Thompson of Lexington; siblings, Elizabeth Ferguson; Edith Coffey; Gene Higgins; Roger Lee Higgins; Nancy Kirby; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Ebenezer ARP cemetery with the Rev. Jim Giles officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Roger and Hazel Roberts.
