Obituary for Eldridge Calvin (Elk) Graham Eldridge Calvin (Elk) Graham
Alleghany County Native Was Farmer, Hot Springs Baptist Church Member

Mr. Eldridge Calvin (Elk) Graham, age 79, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Bath County Community Hospital, Hot Springs.

He was the husband of Cora Crouse Graham.

Mr. Graham was born January 12, 1933 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Calvin Lewis Graham and Ruby Ward Graham.

He was a farmer, enjoyed gardening and was known for his cabbage plants. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Cora Crouse Graham, Mr. Graham is survived by five sons, Denny Graham of Shawsville, Tommy Graham of Buchanan, Lewis Graham of Shawsville, James Kellison of Covington and James Ward of Covington; five daughters, Ruby Haynes of Covington, Belinda Roake and husband, Lawrence of Hot Springs and Phyllis Kingsley of Buchanan, Connie Brown of Shawsville and Patricia Black of Roanoke; a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; two brothers, Gary Wayne Graham of Covington and William Graham of Covington; four sisters, Kathren May of Covington, Dolly Meller of Maryland, Bonnie Graham of Maryland and Janette Poague of Covington; one sister-in-law, Nannie Pritt; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Calvin Lewis Graham and Ruby Ward Graham, Mr. Graham was preceded in death by two sisters.

A funeral service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012, at Hot Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Garland Humphries officiating. Interment followed in Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donnie Crouse, David Howard, Lawrence Roarke, Jake Kellison, Ryland Burchette and Ron Bolling.

Alternate pallbearers were Justin Haynes, Elky Roake, Lawrence Graham, Austin Hiser and Charlie Mace.

The family received friends on Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
