Rodney W. Tomlinson, 72 of Carnesville, GA, passed away February 12, 2012 at his home.

He was born on April 19, 1939 in Rockbridge County and was the son of Clara Humphries Tomlinson and the Late Charles A Tomlinson.

He was retired From the Ford Motor Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Grace Carter Tomlinson and his father.

He is survived by his mother, Clara H. Tomlinson of Buena Vista; his wife, Joanne B. Tomlinson of the home; a son, Rodney Wayne Tomlinson Jr. and wife, Donna of English Indiana; a daughter, Lorrie T. McDaniel and husband, Chris of Winder, Ga; four brothers, Garry Tomlinson and wife, Anitta of Buena Vista, David Tomlinson and wife, Carol of Salemburg, N.C., Larry Tomlinson and wife, Sandy of Appomattox, Keith Tomlinson and wife, Kay of Lexington; two sisters, Nancy T. Plogger and Brenda T. Enstminger and husband, Jerry, both of Lexington. five stepchildren, 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Memorial Services were held Saturday Feb 18, 2012 from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with David Tomlinson Officiating.
