Thurman Cleo Hartbarger, 89, of Lexington, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in Heritage Hall.

Born April 11, 1922 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Charles Jacob Hartbarger and Willie Virginia Knick Hartbarger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Herbert D. Hartbarger.

Mr. Hartbarger was a member of Kerrs Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mabel P. Hartbarger; a daughter-in-law, Betty Hartbarger; one grandson, one great granddaughter, and two nieces.

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tony Nix officiating.
