Albert Wayne McCormick, 69, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, February 23, 2012.

Born February 25, 1942 in Rockbridge County, he was the son of the late Susan Corner McCormick Paynter and William D. McCormick.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Lynn McCormick Weeks, a brother, Robert L. "Bobby" McCormick.

Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Stinnett McCormick; daughters, Loretta M. Watson and husband, David of Ruckersville, Sharon M. Cooper and husband, Shad; son, Mark Wayne McCormick of Lexington; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers, Jackie R. McCormick, Curtis H. McCormick; a sister, Debbie H. Knick; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 in Harrison Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eddy Gilpin officiating. Burial will follow in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3 - 5 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
