Obituary for Melvin Greene Fix Melvin Greene Fix
Former United Virginia Bank Loan Officer Was Longtime Moose Member

Melvin Greene Fix, 82, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his home.

Born January 22, 1930 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Cavalier Washington Fix and Mary Louise Emore Fix.

Mr. Fix was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church and retired from the United Virginia Bank as a loan officer.

He was a member of the Ruritan Club of Greenville, AARP, and former member of the Lexington-Buena Vista Rockbridge Association of Realtors.

Melvin joined the Lexington Moose Lodge #1700 in 1967 and was governor for three terms and achieved the Fellowship Degree in 1974. He was also past district president for the Virginia Moose Association, received the Pilgrim degree in 1983, member of 25 club 100th division and was a past North Moose of Blue Ridge Legion 82.

Surviving are his wife, Leona A. Fix; son, Phillip D. Fix and wife, Cheryl; sister, Nancy Sensabaugh, all of Lexington; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Christinia Tutterow and the Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow at McElwee Chapel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington Moose Lodge. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
