Obituary for Blair Blane (B.B.) Ayers Blair Blane (B.B.) Ayers
Was Owner Of B.B. Ayers And Sons Excavating

Blair Blane (B.B.) Ayers, 72, of Lexington, Virginia, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his home.

He was born April 8, 1939, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James Edgar Ayers and Minnie Mutispaugh Ayers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Charles Ayers, Hunter Ayers, Lucille "Lou" Reynolds, and Carol Sue "Curly" Eggleston.

B. B. was a lifelong member of the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church, and was the owner of B.B. Ayers and Sons Excavating Contractors for 42 years.

Surviving are two sons, Mikeal Blair Ayers and wife, Becky; Kevin Dean Ayers and wife, Pam; one daughter, Dreama Ayers Fox and husband, Tommy; one sister, Juanita "Sis" Bartley; one brother, James Henry Ayers; eight grandchildren, Chad Ayers; Jeanna Ayers Nicely and husband, Chad; Chris Ayers; Michelle Ayers; Paul Thomas Fox; Logan Fox; Andrew Fox; Madison Fox; one great-grandchild, Joshua Ayers; special brother-in-law Clef Reynolds; special little dog, Bozo.

A funeral service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Sebby Volpe and the Rev. Brian Volpe officiating. Burial will follow at Kerrs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
