Army Veteran Was Former Postal Employee

Jennifer Annette Atkins Waver entered into eternal rest peacefully on April 10, 2012, in McGuire Veteran_s Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia.

She was one of five children born to the late Cora and James Atkins, of Newport News, Virginia.

Jennifer proudly served her country, for thirteen years, in the United States Army. She was also formerly employed by the United States Postal Service.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Donnie Earl Lindsey and a brother, James Atkins, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her brothers, William C. Atkins (Lydia), of Baltimore, Maryland, Bobby R. Atkins, (Juanita), of Williamsburg and Rickie L. Atkins (Rhonda), of Ashburn, Virginia; her seven nieces; her nephew, and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in Whiting's Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Daryl T. Jones officiating. Military Honors to follow in the funeral home immediately following the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 11: 45 a.m. on Wednesday.

Inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2012, in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia.

Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, if they desire to be a part of the funeral procession. Professional service entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia. 757-229-3011.
