Eleanor Mae Goodbar, 72, of Lexington, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 29, 2012 at her home.

Born September 22, 1939 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Gardner Goodbar and Polly Mae Clark Goodbar.

Miss Goodbar was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church.

Eleanor retired from Modine with thirty-eight years of service and after retirement, worked many years for the Kroger Deli Department.

Surviving are one daughter, Charlene G. Bryant; one son, Rickie Goodbar and wife, Karen; one sister, Ponsella Sensabaugh; four grandchildren, Amanda Bryant, Paul Bryant, Cole Goodbar, and Karli Grace Goodbar, all of Lexington.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Collierstown Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Gertz and Pastor Brent McGuirt officiating. Burial will follow at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
