Elwood Forest Wright, 89, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Envoy of Staunton.

Born May 15, 1922, in Buena Vista, he was a son of the late Forest Mayo Wright and Nettie Lee Montgomery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Marshall, James and David Wright.

Mr. Wright was a member of the Good Shepherd Community Church.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ethel Louise Carter Wright, of Buena Vista; daughter, Phyllis Wright Obaugh and husband, Thomas, of Buchanan; two grandchildren, Scott H. Grant and Mike T. Obaugh; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Obaugh and Max Obaugh; two sisters, Nannie Huffman and Helen Bare; four brothers Ben, Claude, Hayden and Harvey Wright.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Odell Humphries and the Rev. David Heim officiating. Burial to follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
