Lexington Native Worked With Modine For Over 25 Years

Betty May Clements Mayo, 59, of Buena Vista, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home after a battle with cancer.

Born May 11, 1953 in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Leonard K. Clements and Ruth Crist Clements.

Mrs. Mayo was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church and was a past dedicated employee of Modine Manufacturing for over twenty five years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin G. Mayo; one brother, William Clements; two sisters, Sue Watts and Mary Ruth Clements.

Surviving are her son, Mikel "Skippy" Melvin Mayo; siblings, Ray Clements and wife, Judy of New Port Richey, FL; Wendy "Gay" C. Browing and husband, Carlos of Blacksburg, VA; Joyce Thompson and husband, Buddy of Lynchburg; Leslie Clements and wife, Kathy; Mike Clements and wife, Barbara, all of Buena Vista; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Buena Vista Baptist Church with the Rev. W. David Bain and the Rev. Bryon LePere officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home. The family suggests donations be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice or the Buena Vista Baptist Church.
