Loving Life Ministries Member Was Homestead Maintenance Employee

Aloys Lambert (Buck) Gier III, age 60, of 104 Walton Church Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at his residence.

Born August 16, 1951 in Ronceverte, West Virginia, Buck was a son of the late Aloys Lambert Gier II and Georgia Whitman Gier.

He was a maintenance worker for The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs and a member of Loving Life Ministries in Clifton Forge.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Powell Gier of Clifton Forge; two daughters, Melissa Gier Hoover and husband, Bill of Franklin, WV, and Christine Renee Gier of Covington; a step daughter, Sarah Ann Robinson Broughman and husband, Wayne of Clifton Forge; a step son, Richard Derrick Robinson of San Diego, CA; a sister, Vickie Rucker Rock Kerns and husband, Delbert of Covington; four brothers, Jerry Rucker, Sr., Kenny Rucker and wife, Evelyn, Ricky Rucker, and David Rucker, all of Covington; seven grandchildren, Heather Brewster, Jenny Quantz, Johnnie Quantz, Kaitlyn Ruth Hoover, Dylan James Maurer, Kaleb Tristan Williamson, and Gabriel Gray Broughman; nieces and nephews, Nathan Rock, Dustin Rock, Amanda Rucker, and Jeremy Rucker; and special friends, Wayne Broughman, Kyle Maurer and his pets, Max, Maggie, Precious, and Smokey.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the family camp on the Cowpasture River, Glen Haven Drive, Sharon with Pastor Shorty Wolfe, Reverend Tom Warren, Pastor Frank Sizemore, and Reverend Doug Moore officiating. The family will receive friends any time at the residence, Alleghany Camp Ground, 104 Walton Church Lane, Lot 34, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Loving Life Ministries, c/o Pastor Shorty Wolfe, 717 Commercial Avenue, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
