Obituary for Ruth Marion Nevitt Boehmer Ruth Marion Nevitt Boehmer
New York Native Was Local School Bus Driver, Antique Store Owner

Ruth Marion Nevitt Boehmer, age 94, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 7, 2012 with her daughters, Linda and Dianne at her bedside.

A Yankee by birth, but a Virginian at heart, Ruth moved from New York to the Lexington, Virginia, area in the early 1980's. She worked for years as a school bus driver ruling with an iron hand, and a gentle heart. After retirement, she and her husband, Ed, owned Outhouse Antiques in Fairfield, VA.

Ruth lived for over 20 years at Lexington House. There were 3 chairs on her porch which were always available to neighbors and friends along with spirited conversation, kind words, and good humor.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Boehmer.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda White (James White) of Raphine and Dianne D'Alessandro ( Denise Pritzl )of Seattle, WA.; grandchildren, Dawn Marchant (Gary Marchant) of Scottsdale, AZ , Dianne Batistoni, Morris Plains, New Jersey, Evan Noble of the US Navy and great-grandchildren, Juliana, Daniel, Andrew and Austin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph D'Aurora officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA, 24450. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
