Obituary for Ann Sheets Tinsley Ann Sheets Tinsley
Former Chesterfield County Teacher Was Active In Her Community

Ann Sheets Tinsley, age 63, of Church Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at The Highland House, Clifton Forge.

She was born August 3, 1948 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, to Elizabeth Trainum Sheets and the late James Lindsey Sheets, Jr.

She was a 1968 graduate of Ferrum College and received her B. S. in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1970.

She retired from the Chesterfield County Public School System after seventeen years.

She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Senior Citizens Dublicate Bridge Club of Covington, and the Fort Knightly Bridge Club of Clifton Forge.

She loved all sports, especially softball, basketball, bowling and water skiing. The love of her life was her bulldogs, including special bulldog and companion, "Buddy".

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Ann Shelton.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Sheets of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Beth Sheets Smith of Abingdon and Joan Sheets Melady of Stuarts Draft; and a niece and three nephews, Benjamin Smith and wife, Jennie, Willoughby Smith, Megan Melady and Mark Melady.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Central United Methodist Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Tommy Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery, Eagle Rock. Active pallbearers will be Mark Melady, Ben Smith, Will Smith, Chuck Wilkerson, Matt Wilkerson, and Seth Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Melady, Charles Wilkerson, and Bill Hardbarger. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to Central United Methodist Church, PO Box 16, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
