Elsie Pugh Plogger Miller, 87, of Buena Vista, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 14, 2012.

She passed away at her home of 55 years.

She was a woman of dedicated faith, strong will, and unconditional love of her family.

Born in Buena Vista on March 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Morris Jacob and Della Beatrice Holt Pugh.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, William Roscoe Plogger, who died June 10, 1952, and by her second husband, James Theodore Miller, who died January 5, 2008; two brothers, Lester Morris Pugh and Lawrence William Pugh; one sister, Mary Magdalene Pugh Coulson.

Left to cherish her memory are one sister, Geraldine Pugh McDaniel, and husband, James, of Buena Vista; three sons, James William Plogger Sr. and wife, Barbara (Hall) of Maryville, Tenn., Lewis Edward Plogger and wife, Mary Ellen (Byers), Albert Franklin Plogger and wife, Mary (Conner), one daughter, Brenda Miller Presnell, and husband, Bobby, all of Buena Vista; six grandchildren, James W. Plogger Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., Missy P. Johnson and husband, Mark of Buena Vista, Shannon Presnell and wife, Lindsay of Amherst, Wesley Presnell and wife, Helen of Collierstown, Brandy P. Hatcher and husband, Charlie of Stuarts Draft, and Christopher Plogger of Buena Vista; six great-grandchildren, Kelsey Johnson, Jaylee and Peyton Hatcher, and Jackson, Elle, and Harvey Presnell.

The family requests contributions be made to Hospice Rockbridge Area. Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel in Buena Vista on Monday, June 18, 2012, with the Rev. George Close, the Rev. W. David Bain, and the Rev. Robert W. Presnell officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 17, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista.
