Lakeisha Renee Byrd, age 22, of 1651 Garstland Drive, Roanoke, Virginia, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Botetourt County.

She was born on May 1, 1990 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to Tammy Sandidge and Roy Edward Byrd, Jr.

She was a homemaker and member of Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Iron Gate.

She was a loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and niece.

In addition to her parents, Tammie Sandidge of Roanoke and Roy Byrd, Jr. of Clifton Forge, she is survived by a daughter, Keyhana Renee Sandidge of Roanoke; a step sister, Shaleisha Monet Smith of Roanoke; grandparents, Pearlie Sandidge of Amherst, and Roy Byrd, Sr. and Helen Louise Byrd of Clifton Forge; a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and best friend, Alyssa Smith of Clifton Forge.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Justice Sandidge.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church in Clifton Forge with Reverend Roslyn Thomas and Elder DeLawrence Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Allen, Justice Sandidge, Calvin Bannister, Bruce Godfrey, Jr., Asberry Godfrey, and Jeffrey Robinson. Flower bearers will be Jasmine Sandidge, Justina Sandidge, Violet Finney, Brittany Sandidge, Tiffany Sandidge, Kiara Sandidge, Heather Cooper and Aaliya Reynolds.

The family received friends on Friday evening from 6:00 -l 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Arrangements are being handled by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
