Obituary for Ethel Charline Nuckoles Mundy Ethel Charline Nuckoles Mundy
Dress Shop Owner Was Glasgow Baptist Church Member

Ethel Charline Nuckoles Mundy, 91, formerly of Glasgow, Virginia, went home with our Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, with her children by her side.

She was the daughter of the late Ashby and Katie Nuckoles of Staunton.

She was predeceased by husband, Roy C. "Mutt" Mundy Jr.; two daughters, Barbara Ann Spangler and Charlene Reynolds; a son, Tommy Allen Mundy; a grandson, Kevin Wade Spangler; and two special sons-in-law, Otho "Sonny" Spangler Jr. and Joseph "Joe" Miller.

She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church and worked for a number of years at Kenrose sewing factory in Buchanan before opening up her own business, "Ethel & Mutt's Dress Shop".

When Ethel decided to "retire," her favorite hobby was participating in our wonderful family card games during which many, many memories were made. Ethel also loved the game of BINGO and was a "supporter" of many local organizations.

Ethel is survived by a daughter, Lynda Mundy-Norris Miller of Glasgow; a son, Jimmy C. Mundy and wife, Sharon, of Roanoke; and a son, Frank G. Mundy and wife, Linda, of Broadway.

She is also survived by her special son-in-law, "Bernard" Reynolds; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Mundy. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Ruby Matthews, of Deltona, Fl; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Mundy, of Spring Grove.

Ethel was known to many as "Nanny" and she leaves behind a legacy of 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday July 20, 2012, at Harrison Funeral Home in Lexington, with family visitation until 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin immediately afterwards at Harrison's, with internment in the Glasgow Cemetery following the service with the Rev. William Thomas officiating.

The family would like to thank Kendal and Rockbridge Hospice for all their support and special care. The family will receive friends at the home of Bernie Reynolds, 100 Robert E. Lee Drive, Natural Bridge Station.

Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.

Today the lord took another angel into his arms to watch over all of us in his glorious kingdom where she has been greeted with love.

Gone but never forgotten!
